"Versmės" Exhibition

In July 2026, my work “Fragment of Memories” was selected for the exhibition Versmės, organised by the Lithuanian National Centre for Culture in collaboration with curator Ray Bartkus and presented in Chicago, USA.

The exhibition invites audiences to discover Lithuania through four traditions inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity: cross-crafting, the Lithuanian Song and Dance Celebration tradition, sutartinės (traditional Lithuanian polyphonic songs), and sodai (traditional straw gardens).

My artwork explores Lithuanian woven ornament through a contemporary ceramic language, creating a dialogue between cultural heritage and contemporary art.

Following its presentation in Chicago, the exhibition will continue its international journey to Philadelphia, Canada, and Asia before returning to Lithuania for the 2028 Lithuanian Song Celebration.
